nuture your clients 🤢

Hi there, Reader!

I am triggered by the word Nuture.

The thing is that when I first started working on my business, I had a spiritual/business coach. He was amazing in helping me work with my injured inner child and helping me release fears. And, he would use the word nurture all. the. time.

His business model was to reach out to people on social media, nurture them by giving tons of value regarding their 'problem' in FB messenger, then get them on a call to talk about my new life coaching program. Then after being nurtured they would then naturally jump into the coaching program - or not.

This model was really hard for me. I actually really hated it. I hated responding to strangers in FB groups with unsolicated advice. I hated corresponding in FB messenger. I hated the word nurture. I just couldn't do it. I had to find a different way.

Now I am an established business. I make as much money as I did in my 30-year career as a high school teacher in a very short amount of time. And do I nurture clients? Heck yeah! Do I use that model? Heck no! At least 99% of the time.

Today, I am looking back over my path to where I am now and how I got here. Despite my resistance to that first model, I stll nurture my clients.

It looks different, but it fits my personality and boundaries -> I feel comfortable delivering my method & I can be consistent doing it.

Part of creating a successful business is creating your own way so YOU feel good when delivering your services. This business delivery really reminds me of when I was a teacher.

All of the teachers of the same subject in the district had to teach the same approved curriculum, but HOW to teach it was purely individual.

In business, there are certain points that every business needs (such as, target audience, ideal client... ), but how you run your business and get new clients is purely individual.

Below, I have listed the things I have tried - some worked for me, some did not but are working for others. The most important part is choosing what feels good to you and what you can be consistent in delivering.

  • Create a freebie with automated links to get people on your email list
  • Post photos and videos on social media with valuable information
  • Respond to everyone who comments on your social media posts
  • Send newsletters - not just sales emails
  • Respond to EVERYONE who replies to your newsletters
  • Greet EVERY person attending your events
  • Give a bonus at your events (information, small gift...)
  • Send "you've-been-on-my-mind" personal texts or messages (no sales)
  • Create a private online community of like-minded people
  • Create an in-person meet up group with like-minded people

What feels good to you? And is it something you can manage consistently?

Remember that consistent does not mean 24/7 or 7 days a week. It means within your boundaries of what is manageble for you.

Alright, that's all for today.

And PLEASE give me some other words besides nurture to use!
