The Sound Maven Bi-Monthly: Your guide to upcoming workshops, sound baths, and trainings

I Survived the Move and Now....

Since I moved to Colorado 4.5 years ago, I have moved 6 (!) times: near Victor, then Colorado Springs, 2 times in Manitou Springs, back to Colorado Springs, and now Broomfield. Not to mention the move into a hotel for a couple of weeks when my first apartment flooded. 😊

With this move, I have noticed two things:

  • My cats are much more resilient than they were during our first interstate move from Indiana. They're fine riding in the van now and don't jump at every little sound.
  • I am physically stronger from carrying instruments up and down to my last second-floor apartment, hauling them across parking lots, and sticking with HIIT workouts for the past seven months.

For me, these are both proof that growth often happens so gradually that we don't notice it until we're faced with a situation that once felt difficult. What once seemed overwhelming now feels manageable. What once required tremendous effort now feels routine.

Life has a way of giving us opportunities to see how far we've come. Sometimes it shows up through a move, a challenge, a new opportunity, or simply looking back and realizing we're handling things today that would have completely stressed us out a few years ago.

As I settle into my new home in Broomfield, I'm reminded that change isn't always comfortable, but it often reveals strengths we didn't know we had. And for that, I'm grateful. I wonder what strengths you're carrying today that you've forgotten to acknowledge. Perhaps this week is a good time to pause, reflect, and give yourself credit for how far you've come.
